Relationships matter in any marketing endeavor, but seriously there are some places where you need to get to know your clients, and Main Street Shops are just one of those places. When I visit my small hometown, walk down Main Street, and see local folks, I call them by name. They respond in kind. They all know me in person, and remember that I was the kid down the street, the girl who bought orange pop and Snickers (T) at the corner grocery, and the kid who never played sports but I attended all the games. They know my name.
That’s important to me.
As the new business owner in town, you can bet your bottom dollar when I see a person walk in for the second time, I’m going to get to know their name. I’ll even notice what they buy, and ask if it’s their regular thing… Because I want to know if they’re going to buy that the next time they enter my Main Street Store Front.
Relationships Matter –
Regardless of how long you’ve been gone, don’t you always feel something special for those people who remember your name?
Not everyone grows up in a community small enough to have shop owners who remember their name, but those of us who did dream of going home – where everyone knows our name – and we love it when it happens. I remember the first time I entered a store on Main Street and it had changed hands. The new owner didn’t know my name, didn’t even know that I was a local girl. You know, I’ve never been back inside that store. And I was a regular customer. But I just don’t feel the desire to shop there anymore. Relationships matter.
Build those relationships in your store front, and make sure you’ve got some idea who you’re doing business with every day, because it’s important. It really is important. Relationships do matter.
Main Street Marketing Options –
There are a few Main Street Marketing options that you’ll be interested in knowing about and sharing these here will help you to be able to find the right one to market your business online. The key, as always is to not only send out the messages but to have the proper response once you’ve sent out the marketing messages, and be able to capture the market and convert your contacts to buyers.
Functional Print Application Marketing
Ad Magazines caught on in the early 1990’s and have kick started many business marketing venues into active conversions with coupons, and buy this with a reminder that (this ad) sent you. If you have the marketing option of buying into an Ad Magazine, something like Real Deals Magazine, then I recommend you do that. Buy a 1/4 page, 1/2 page, or a whole page ad – or buy a middle sheet spreader with two pages to present your business to the market, and capture that audience. With 100% mail out to every mail box, plus the added vantage point of being located in local markets as Advertisers listed in a local Magazine, is an added bonus to any other kind of print spectacular ad resource.
Be sure to post your link to a relevant and responsive website in that printed magazine. People will look you up online, and more importantly, when they see the magazine online (most printed magazines have an online version of their printed self) they can click through on the ad to your online brochure.
Responsive Internet Marketing Opportunity
Without exception, having a responsive website, relevant and currently updated to share your products, services, and any sales you may have going on with your customers is just as important as being in the print application. Still true, 85% of all buyer decisions are made online prior to the customer arriving at your business location. This is even more true if the customer is traveling through or a tourist in your community.
Providing an optimized, SEO relevant website, or online brochure
for your specific market niche is imperative.
